Passionate about Computer Programming and Mentoring
I am a software developer both by passion and profession. I am enthusiastic about continuous learning and growing professionally by working with individuals from diverse background.
I often work with professional programmers and students majoring in computer science doing pair programming or mentoring.
I encountered NetLogo and agent based modeling when a student majoring in political science, and having no prior computer programming experience sought assistance with learning the NetLogo programming language. We had good fun developing and implementing his thesis model in NetLogo. That’s when I got hooked to NetLogo.
I like the simplicity and beauty of the platform and ease of simulating a complex phenomenon. Since then I have enjoyed working with numerous students from across the world, helping them pick up the ropes of programming in NetLogo.
I have found that while the official online resources in the form of Programming Guide and NetLogo Dictionary does a wonderful job as a reference material for folks with prior programming experience, it may leave some folks intimidated when attempting to grok NetLogo.
After having worked with numerous such students and professionals, I have come to a realisation that an approachable, sequential and easy to follow step-by-step guide to understanding and learning NetLogo could be beneficial for a wide variety of folks on the Internet. I am trying to make progress with the same. If you have any inputs and suggestions towards that, you are more than welcome to drop me a message.
Alongside, I am available for expert consultation, NetLogo model development, and professional training services around NetLogo ecosystem of tools. Whether you’re looking to enhance your understanding of agent-based modeling using NetLogo, or seeking assistance with developing sophisticated models, I can do my bit to help you achieve your goals.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio.
