When autocomplete has been switched off under Preferences (and a restart),
there is still autocomplete in included files (.nls and .nlm).

I’m not able to reproduce this behavior on my end. Do you mean that you can still open the autocomplete popup with Ctrl+Space (this is the intended behavior) or that it still opens automatically as you type?

After switching it off, the suggestions still pop up while typing in the additional code tab of an included file, not in the main Code tab.
