Printing code without page numbers

When using the File menu’s Print … command, is it possible to specify that page numbers not be included? Or, more generally, to edit the footer (and/or to add a header)? My goal is to get rid of everything but the code, but that more general question seems interesting to ask.

Hi @cruebeck,

NetLogo does not currently provide that option, but a quick scan of the printing code suggests that we do have control over the header and footer. We can look into adding some configuration options for the next release, if it seems like a feature that users would generally benefit from. For now, your best option is probably to open the PDF in an editor like Adobe Acrobat and remove the text you don’t want. Also, if it’s really only the code that you need, you could just copy and paste it into a text document.

Both of your suggestions are great workarounds, thanks! I wouldn’t put a high priority on access to headers and footers, but maybe it’s easy to add to the operating system’s print dialog as part of a NetLogo application section. (Have I described that idea accurately? Dunno, but maybe you get the idea.)

I doubt that we would be able to change the contents of the OS print dialog, but the footer is currently added manually by NetLogo. So it should be simple to add a preference or an intermediate “setup” dialog with an option to just ignore that piece of code.

:+1: and there is already an intermediate print dialog, so maybe it could be added to that? Again, not a high priority for me, and thanks again for the ideas you shared in the original reply.

Yeah, that sounds like a good place to add it. Hopefully it can be included in a future update.
