Thronglets: An Agent-Based Model of Chatty Digital Creatures 🐣

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to share my new NetLogo project: Thronglets.

Thronglets is a NetLogo model that simulates an adorably strange society of digital life forms.

Each Thronglet goes about its own little life (eating, socializing, stressing out) and sometimes bands together with others to form collectives called Throngs. But they don’t just live in their own world: they talk to you, in their weird little language.

Tweak the knobs, run the sim, and watch as strange civilizations rise, fall, and maybe whisper a bit too much.

Hi Daniel, this looks intriguing but I’m quite confused! As far as I can tell, there are no actual agents and you are adding random amounts based on some conditions to the total numbers for each graph. Is that what’s intended?

Hi Jacob,

This was my (failed) attempt at an April Fool’s joke.

Ha, that’s actually really funny! As usual, I just downloaded the model before reading anything and just got really confused :joy:
